It can be hard to know when to take the next step, but there are common signs to watch for. Your loved one may be struggling with tasks like keeping up with housekeeping, preparing meals, managing medications, or maintaining personal hygiene. You might also notice increased forgetfulness, social withdrawal, or difficulty using appliances safely.
If these changes are affecting their well-being or safety, assisted living can provide gentle, daily support while preserving their independence. We’re always here to talk through your observations and help you decide if Linden Square is the right fit.
No long-term lease is required. At Linden Square, residents stay on a month-to-month basis, giving families flexibility and peace of mind. We do have a written residency agreement to review together, and we ask for a 30-day notice if your loved one decides to move. This structure allows you to plan ahead without feeling locked into a commitment.
Yes, pets are welcome at Linden Square as long as the resident is able to care for them independently. We know how comforting the companionship of a beloved pet can be. While we do have a few guidelines regarding size and type, we’re happy to talk with you about the best options for your loved one and their furry friend.
Yes. Our certified team can monitor blood pressure and other vital signs as directed by your loved one’s healthcare provider. We also assist with medication reminders and coordinate care with home health, hospice, or outside providers when needed. Our goal is to provide responsive, reliable support while working in partnership with your family and care team.
Every resident completes a Personal Needs Assessment before moving in. This helps us understand their health, abilities, and preferences, and allows us to develop a customized care plan. We revisit this plan 30 days after move-in to make any needed adjustments and review it quarterly thereafter—or anytime there’s a change in condition. Family members and physicians are included in the process, so care always reflects current needs.
Every team member—from caregivers to kitchen staff—is thoroughly screened during the hiring process. This includes in-depth interviews, professional reference checks, license and certification verification (for licensed roles), and a criminal background check conducted through the state police. You can trust that everyone on our team is here for the right reasons and ready to support your loved one with compassion and professionalism.

Yes. Our Life Enrichment Program offers a wide range of opportunities for social connection, mental stimulation, and physical activity. From our Men’s Group and daily chair exercises to music, crafts, games, and off-site outings, we work hard to offer something for every interest. If your loved one is hesitant at first, our team will encourage participation gently—many residents are surprised to discover new hobbies or friendships along the way.
Residents enjoy three balanced, home-cooked meals a day in our dining room, including made-to-order hot breakfast from 7–9 AM. Cold breakfast items are available afterward, and snacks are offered throughout the day. Our menus are planned with both nutrition and enjoyment in mind, and mealtimes are an important social opportunity. We also monitor residents’ weight monthly to catch and address any health concerns early on.
Medicare does not cover the monthly cost of assisted living, but some long-term care insurance and health insurance policies may offer support. Veterans and their spouses may also be eligible for VA benefits to help offset the cost. For guidance on veterans’ aid, we recommend calling the VA at 800-827-1000. Our team can also help you explore resources and connect you with financial professionals if needed.
In some cases, yes. Under current IRS guidelines, the full cost of assisted living may be deductible as a medical expense if the resident meets certain criteria. We recommend speaking with a tax advisor, financial planner, or attorney to determine your eligibility and what documentation you may need.
